The sky scene, July 28 evening

The Moon will pass 3 degrees north of Jupiter.

On July 30, the Moon will reach its First Quarter position – meaning that it is traveling around behind Earth, crossing our orbit in our wake.  So it will be near to the “Antapex of Earth’s Way,” the point away from which Earth is flying.

I’ve been uncommunicative for a while because I’m preparing among other things a book to be called The Travels of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.  It will tell their tale and chart their movements for years ahead.  Watch this space.

I expect it will be followed by Travels of Jupiter and Saturn and others.
