The widely-used guide to the night skies of the year continues, after all.
I had intended that the 2026 book would be the last. Since the first small book (for 1974), it had grown, and grown, and grown to be too much work to face yet again.
But ingenious methods of accomplishing the work have been devised by Daniel Cummings, of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, who earlier had found the way for me to publish the posters Zodiac Wavy Charts, Five Escapers, and Map of the Starry Sky. On foundations of my programming, he has built an even better Astronomical Calendar.
My cover painting and story are about the 1066 appearance of Halley’s Come recorded in the Bayeux Tapestry, now on display in London. And we have information about the asteriud that will make an unprecedented close pass of Earth in August.
